What is paypal?

Do you accept checks/money orders?

If you prefer to pay with check or money order, you can mail payment to us via post office. In the event that you choose to send a check, you just need to contact us with your intentions; let us know which image you are and package you wish to purchase. We will put the image in which you are interested “under contract” for 10 days, while we wait for the check to arrive. When payment is received, we will declare the image “sold” and move it from the gallery; if payment is not received in the period of time, then the image will be made available for purchase.

Can I supply my own images?

We are not a print shop; we are a design office. We can work with your photographs or artwork to create a card, poster, or package for you, but we have no printing services to offer if your work has already been completed by your own designer.

Explain resizing.

The images displayed are in in the proportions of the standard 4.25″ x 6″ postcard. In most cases, we can adapt the cards to special sizes, such as 4″ x 9″, and still sell the image as part of the Basic Package. In cases where we need to add artwork, colors, or borders in order to meet the requirements of a custom size, we can only do so at the Edited or Printed Package level. Please contact us with your requirements if you need a specific size.

Will Post-Baroque reuse an image?

Whether you purchase a Readymade or we develop Custom Work for you, the image will not be resold to another client. Other design companies offer you a variety of designs for your stationary or card, but they also offer the same designs to some one else. You might find that your competitor or neighbor has the same stationery or business card that you do! How embarrassing will that be in front of your customers?

How is the image licensed?

What you receive is the license to reproduce the image in any format you wish for a term of 99 years. We retain ownership of the original images that we deliver to you. We will never license an image to another customer, but we do retain the right to use the original image in our own portfolio as an example of our work. We may use the image only in the context of our previous work; not as an individual advertisement. See Recent Work.

For example, if you purchase an image with no logo, then later add a logo yourself, we will only show the original image in our portfolio - not the image with the logo you added.

What do you mean by “The Image”?

“The Image” refers to the entire front of the postcard, encompassing all text, pictures and accoutrements. “The Image” is what you see displayed on the site, and it is the file that we will send to you or to the printers. If you choose to have us add a logo or text to the front of the card, then the final result is “The Image”; in this case, “The Image” + logo = “The Image”!

Will Post-Baroque logo be on the work?

All of our Printed and Custom packages will include a small line: “design: www.postbaroque.com”. This will not cover any artwork or text; for postcards or brochures, the line will be placed on the back; in the case of posters or flyers, it will be placed in the margin. This can be removed for an additional $50.

What do you mean by “Readymade”?

“Readymade” is the title for the pre-designed images we offer for sale as postcards. Some of the images can be adapted for use in other formats, such as posters or book covers. Contact us concerning this possibility.

We have lifted the term “Readymade” from Marcel Duchamp (www), but we use it without suggestion of direct lineage of his teachings.
